A reinforced concrete beam measuring six feet wide by two feet six inches deep contains eight continuous number eight rebars distributed across the top and bottom. Transverse confinement is provided by number three ties spaced at twelve inches on center with alternating hook orientations. Number four dowels spaced at twenty-four inches on center extend from the top of the beam into the supported slab.
