A buckling restrained brace connection is anchored to a reinforced concrete footing. The assembly incorporates a baseplate and gusset plate configuration with an optional stiffener plate, sitting atop a three-inch layer of non-shrink grout. A blockout is provided for the baseplate and gusset plate, later filled with concrete after the braces are set. Four rows of three-quarter inch diameter by nine inch long welded studs are spaced at eight inches on center, supplemented by number four ties spaced at four inches on center within the footing. The top of the footing is roughened to a quarter-inch amplitude, and anchor plates are detailed per accompanying drawings.
