An HSS 12x6x1/4 structural steel beam connects to a concrete wall via a 1/2-inch by 12-inch by 1-foot-0-inch plate welded to the end of the member. The connection plate features 3/16-inch fillet welds on two sides tying it to the HSS member, and two 1-inch by 1/2-inch stiffener plates with full penetration welds. The embedment assembly is anchored into the concrete wall with four number 6 bent anchors and is located at elevation +12'-6" relative to the finished floor. Additional 3/16-inch fillet welds secure the top and bottom of the plate assembly.
