An isometric detail of a metal flashing joint maintains a 1/4" gap between adjacent panels. A 2" wide aluminum tape is applied directly over the joint for sealing. A 4" wide flashing strip of PVC-coated metal overlaps the joint and is fastened using minimum 1" galvanized annular ring nails spaced at 4" on center, or other acceptable fasteners, maintaining a minimum 4" overlap.
