Alternatively, a wide flange beam is supported on an hss post with a one-half inch typical plate and a length dimensioned to accommodate bolts. A full depth web plate is detailed at beam connections alongside a partial three-eighth inch stiffener plate if no beam is present, with the cap extended if required by other details.
