Mechanical equipment under three hundred pounds is supported by two L5x3x1/4 angles with Unistruts suspended below the metal roof deck. L6x4x5/16 by ten-inch long angles connect back to the structural steel joists with three-sixteenths inch fillet welds. Five-and-a-half by three-inch spacer plates one-sixteenth inch thicker than the hanging rods are placed at the third points. Hanging rods provided by the mechanical contractor extend down to support the equipment. Quarter-inch fillet welds are specified at the structural connections.
