A metal deck bears directly on a structural steel beam with a continuous two-inch bearing length. A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate with a four-inch vertical leg is welded to the assembly using a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld spaced at two to twelve inches. The maximum dimension per architectural drawings is six inches.
