A concrete wall is anchored to a concrete footing using hooked dowel bars that lap splice with the vertical wall reinforcement. The footing surface is roughened to one-quarter inch amplitude at the cold joint. Horizontal wall reinforcement distributes lateral loads within the wall assembly. Minimum development lengths Ldh and lap splice lengths Lsb are maintained for structural continuity.
