A cold-formed steel ceiling joist bears on a metal stud wall top track. The assembly features a continuous track secured to the supporting 33-mil minimum metal stud wall. Ceiling joists are anchored to the top track with two number ten screws at each joist location. Additional blocking is fastened to the top track with two number ten screws at each blocking piece. Two number ten screws are specified at each stud to top track connection. Wall finishes and joist sizing are coordinated per the architectural drawings and structural schedule.
