A tieback anchor connects to a steel soldier pile with wood lagging. The assembly incorporates a four-inch by one-half-inch by eight-foot anti-twist strap installed when needed to prevent pile rotation during tieback stressing. Two compensation plates are positioned on the front and back of the pile along with a cut-to-fit stiffener per the tieback connection schedule. The soldier pile flange features a cut-away for anchor installation, and the wood lagging is notched around the tieback pocket as required. Wood lagging boards are secured with a one-half-inch by five-inch by thirty-inch plate fastened using two five-eighth-inch diameter by five-inch lag screws per lagging board.
