An open web steel joist bottom chord is welded to a hollow structural section member using angle profiles. The hollow structural section member HSS152x102 is reinforced with L102x102 angles on the near side and far side. Fillet welds of six millimeter size are applied typically to secure the components. Dimensions indicate a minimum one hundred millimeter clearance with a fifty millimeter spacing.
