A structural steel beam web notch is configured per structural and mechanical drawing requirements. The beam web features a one-inch corner radius detail at the cutout transitions. For W30 beams, one-inch by eight-inch plates are applied to each side of the web, while three-quarter-inch by eight-inch plates are used for W27 beams. Clearances and dimensions include a minimum two-foot-zero-inch height above the notch and varying spans coordinated with mechanical drawings.
