A cold-formed steel wall bears above an HSS beam with a three-quarter-inch gap forming a drift and deflection joint. A bent plate connects the assembly to a non-bearing concrete masonry unit wall containing a bond beam. An angle member supports the cold-formed steel framing from the structural beam.
