A hollow structural section member connects to a steel girder using three-eighths by four-inch by ten-inch side plates welded on each side with quarter-inch fillet welds. A three-by-four-inch wood nailer with five-eighths-inch diameter countersunk welded studs spaced at sixteen inches on center attaches above, supported by sub-purlins and four-inch blocking as detailed on the structural plan. Framing includes framing anchors such as two LTP4 clips per blocking piece and a birdsmouth or bolted connection noted as BN. All structural steel elements and welds are sized per plan and executed with standard shop fabrication practices.
