A timber beam frames into a glulam column with proprietary wood screws and steel plates. Three-eighths-inch thick full-depth stiffener plates are installed on each side of the web at the end of the wide-flange beam, secured with two SDS25412 structural screws to the column. A five-eighths-inch thick connection plate utilizes thirteen SDCP27614 screws spaced symmetrically with equalized edge distances. A Simpson beam hanger is referenced on the plan but omitted from the elevation view for clarity. A matched notch is required to accommodate the wide-flange beam seat.
