A shaped three-eighths-inch plate at each side rail connects the ship's ladder framing to the structural steel support. Metal joists spaced at four feet on center frame into the assembly, utilizing metal joist blocking cut with bent webs or clips of the same gauge. Four number-ten self-tapping metal screws secure every other stud to the joist blocking at four-foot spacing. Fillet welds join the plate assemblies as indicated on the drawing.
