Construction and control joints occur in a concrete slab on grade over aggregate base course. The construction joint features diamond dowels spaced at twenty-four inches on center, with the edges on each side of the joint finished with a one-eighth inch radius. The control joint incorporates a saw-cut extending to a depth of zero point two five times the slab thickness, executed within the first twelve hours of the slab pour. Slab thickness is designated as t, with joint depths and dowels positioned at the mid-depth of zero point five t. Spacing for the control joints is specified per plan.
