A continuous one-quarter-inch bent plate or alternative one-quarter-inch angle is installed at the roof edge, with sizing and attachment per the roof deck schedule. The metal roof deck bears across the top of a wide-flange beam and roof joist, sized per plan. A three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the bent plate to the joist. A field weld of one-quarter-inch by two inches applies at long span joists, and one-eighth-inch by two inches at web-type joists.
