Vertical column reinforcement and horizontal beam reinforcement meet at a concrete column-beam joint. The concrete surface at the construction joints is intentionally roughened to a one-quarter inch amplitude. Vertical column reinforcement transitions via a lap splice sized per sheet S0.10, with an allowable alternative to use mechanical couplers. Column and beam reinforcement sizes are determined per the structural schedules.
