A concrete slab edge is supported by a structural steel edge beam with a continuous twelve gauge metal edge form. The edge form is anchored using three-inch by fourteen gauge Z-clips welded to the edge form and edge beam at twenty-four inches on center, supplemented by three-quarter-inch diameter field plug welds at twelve inches on center. Two continuous number four rebars run within the edge zone, while number three rebars spaced at twelve inches on center reinforce the slab. An optional framing configuration utilizes an L5x5x3/8 angle spaced at ten feet maximum, aligned with the beam on the opposite side and welded with a quarter-inch fillet weld on two sides. A note requires the contractor to check the adequacy of the edge form.
