Concrete masonry unit pier reinforcing features one and two block conditions. The CMU shell is reinforced with number four bars spaced at four inches on center with standard one hundred eighty-degree hooks for the one-block condition, extending sixteen inches above and below the opening. The two-block condition utilizes number five bars spaced at eight inches on center with standard one hundred eighty-degree hooks. Jamb reinforcing is provided per schedule unless noted otherwise on wall elevations. Forming may require shoring as indicated in the notes.
