A Simpson MST60 strap is installed on top of the roof sheathing and centered over a steel joist with sixty-eight 0.162x2-1/2-inch nails at 4 feet on center, aligning with wall anchors. Four-by sub-purlins are supported by Simpson HF and F series sub-purlin hangers in Z-Max galvanized finish at the strap and diaphragm nailing. Roof sheathing is applied per plan over a 3x nailer, while the steel joist is sized per plan and connected below.
