A steel stair stringer formed by an L3x3x1/4 angle connects to a thickened slab on grade over a mat foundation using three-quarter-inch diameter by eight-inch expansion anchor bolts at each stringer. A three-sixteenths-inch fillet weld is applied to three sides of the stringer connection as shown. The slab on grade features a typical two-foot thickened section and is reinforced with number four bars spaced at eighteen inches on center. The mat foundation depth is sized per plan with a typical twelve-inch dimension.
