Pipes passing near foundations require specific clearance and encasement configurations to prevent structural compromise. Footings are stepped so as not to exceed three feet in depth, with pipes running below or parallel to the footing maintaining specified minimum dimensions. A sleeve with an inside diameter four inches greater than the outside diameter of the pipe is required. Three thousand psi concrete fill is placed around the sleeve matching the width of the footing before the main footing is poured, and no pipe is permitted to pass through the footing unless otherwise noted.
