Reinforced concrete wall openings require specific trim bar configurations around their perimeters based on wall thickness. Eight-inch walls require two number five bars, ten to twelve-inch walls require two number six bars, sixteen-inch walls require two number seven bars, and twenty-inch walls require two number eight bars, with all bars extending a minimum of four feet beyond the edge of the opening. Standard hooks are used where full embedment is not possible. Where a jamb is less than two feet, three number three ties are provided at eight inches on center.
