Concrete slab joints are spaced according to designated maximum pour lengths and typical grid dimensions. First and second concrete pours are separated by construction joints at a maximum spacing of ninety feet. Control joints are placed throughout the slab area with a maximum spacing of ten feet typical. These joint locations control shrinkage cracking and define sequential placement phases.
