A vertical plate extending from a built-up box beam connects to a half-inch thick embed plate anchored into a concrete shear wall. The embed plate features six half-inch diameter studs with twelve inches of minimum embedment. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld secures the connection, with a one-half inch partial joint penetration weld provided at the contractor's option. Shear wall reinforcement is omitted for clarity.
