A concrete slab over a metal deck bears on a structural steel beam, which is supported below by an angle kicker. Metal studs feature gravity and lateral connections designed by the supplier to accommodate vertical building deflection and seismic drifts. A horizontal drift joint is incorporated into the exterior skin above the window header. The window system and its attachment to the structure are provided by the supplier to accommodate building movement.
