A structural steel exterior column connects to a concrete over metal floor deck and supporting steel beam. A deck support angle sized L4x4x1/4 spans the column width and attaches, with the horizontal leg clipped as required to clear the slab edge. An L4x4x1/4 brace for the building skin connects to the steel column, supplemented by continuous L6x4 angles as required. Fillet welds of 1/4-inch and 3/16-inch sizes are indicated at structural intersections. Where window systems are offset below, a deeper metal stud is provided to accommodate attachment.
