Two steel edge angles join at a splice location. A three-quarter inch by four inch by eighteen inch ASTM A992 Grade 50 KSI splice plate centers on the joint at the long leg of the angle. A three-quarter inch by three inch by eighteen inch ASTM A992 Grade 50 KSI splice plate centers on the joint at the short leg of the angle. A five-sixteenths inch fillet weld applied to three sides of the splice plates secures the connection.
