A buckling-restrained brace connects to a structural steel column base assembly via a gusset plate and bolted connection. The steel column is welded to a base plate secured by anchor rods embedded in concrete. A gusset plate attaches to the column and base plate, receiving the buckling-restrained brace secured by manufacturer-specified bolts. Fillet welds join the gusset plate to the column and base plate according to design drawings.
