A kicker brace connection frames parallel to the deck flutes beneath a concrete slab on a metal deck. The connection utilizes an L4x4x1/4 angle measuring 1 foot 6 inches long, secured with two 5/8-inch diameter expansion anchors spaced at 12 inches on center. The anchor gauge is centered on the deck flutes with standard holes provided and a 1/4-inch plate placed between the anchors. A brace per plan connects to the assembly, with a 3/4-inch diameter A307 bolt and a 3/16-inch fillet weld indicated at the structural joint. A minimum 4-inch embedment is maintained, positioned 1 3/4 inches from the anchor to the edge.
