A concrete masonry unit wall connects to a concrete slab with two continuous number five bottom dowels and vertical reinforcing bars anchored with alternate hooks. A forty-eight bar diameter lap splice connects the vertical wall reinforcing to the dowels extending from the slab. The concrete slab features a thickened edge beneath the wall with a width of one foot six inches. Typical slab reinforcing is sized per plan, and elevated slab conditions remain similar to the slab on grade shown.
