Two structural angle ledger sections are joined end-to-end with a two-inch gap using a three-eighths-inch Grade 36 bent splice plate welded along three sides with a five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld. The assembly features heavy hex head anchor bolts housed in slotted holes with three-inch diameter light gauge twenty-gauge minimum steel washers on the far side typically. Finger-tight nuts are specified with marred threads and are explicitly noted not to be torqued. Channel supports are also provided in slotted holes at each end and at midspan of the ledger. A separate profile detail of the five-inch by five-inch angle shows it bent to clear the radius of the angle.
