An angle brace connects to the web and bottom flange of a structural steel beam supporting a concrete slab over a steel deck. A weld plate is secured at each end of the brace using one-quarter-inch fillet welds applied on three sides. The connection restrains the bottom flange against lateral torsional buckling.
