A structural steel stair stringer bears onto a thickened slab on grade via a 0'-10" long L4x4x1/4 angle. The angle is anchored to the concrete using two 1/2-inch diameter by 3 1/2-inch concrete screws installed in 2-inch long slotted holes aligned parallel to the stringer to permit slip movement. The stringer is welded to the angle with a 3/16-inch fillet weld on three sides.
