A structural steel column connects to a concrete foundation with a base plate and anchor bolts, surrounded by a concrete slab on grade and a concrete block-out. A buckling-restrained brace intersects the assembly at a work point, engaging a gusset plate welded to both the column and the base plate. Typical stiffener plates are welded horizontally inside the steel column web. Weld sizes and lengths are specified by variables for both the column and base plate connections. Base plate and anchor bolt sizes are sized per structural elevations.
