A continuous bent plate is welded to the top flange of a structural steel beam with three-sixteenths inch welds at twelve inches on center. The plate width dimension 'L' varies up to twenty-four inches with a corresponding plate thickness 't' ranging from three-eighths to one-half inch based on the accompanying table. Metal deck bears on the steel beam with a minimum two-inch bearing length, located relative to the centerline of the beam per the plan. The end of the metal deck is secured to the steel beam flange.
