A hollow structural section drag strut splice connection utilizes top and bottom splice plates measuring three-quarters of an inch by five inches, accompanied by plates measuring three-quarters of an inch by three inches. The assembly accommodates a maximum one-half inch gap. Five-sixteenths inch fillet welds with eight-inch spacing are applied typically along the connections.
