A wide-flange steel beam supports a structural fill of five thousand psi normal weight concrete. Three-quarter-inch diameter by six-inch long headed shear studs are welded to the top flange at twelve inches on center to develop composite action. Number six reinforcing bars are placed at twelve inches each way in both top and bottom layers within the concrete section.
