A structural brace connection at a frame floor beam supports a concrete slab over a metal floor deck. A square plate measuring 3/8 inch by 16 inches is anchored to the concrete using four 5/8-inch diameter by 4-1/2 inch embedment J-bolts or expansion anchors, with double nuts provided at the underside. The plate location is adjusted so that the anchors fall within the bottom flute of the steel deck web stiffeners. A kicker member sized per plan is connected at its upper end to a 1/4-inch by 4-inch by 0'-6" plate and welded with 3/16-inch fillet welds. The lower end of the kicker frames into the structural beam web stiffeners, also secured with 3/16-inch fillet welds.
