A steel column sits on a base plate anchored to a concrete pedestal with anchor bolts embedded in the footing. The pedestal is detailed with three number 4 ties at 2 inches on center, with the remainder at 12 inches on center. Additional number 4 bars with standard hooks are placed at each side. The assembly maintains a 2-inch clearance and interfaces with a concrete slab above the pedestal.
