A drag beam connects to an existing wide-flange beam with a quarter-inch fillet weld and a welded connection referenced on sheet S6.2. Two rows of Hilti fasteners at twelve inches on center with a two-and-a-half-inch row spacing secure the assembly through the existing metal deck. Where the deck runs parallel to the drag beam, the drag beam is lowered by its flange thickness and a spreader plate is provided as needed for the fastener. Deck orientation is referenced per plan.
