A parallel reinforcing bar is welded to a flat steel plate with a maximum angular deviation of fifteen degrees and a typical offset of zero point two times the bar diameter. A companion sizing table dictates required weld lengths for bar sizes ranging from number three through number eleven. The weld length scales proportionally with the bar diameter from one and one quarter inches up to nine and three quarter inches.
