A concrete slab over metal floor deck bears on a deck support angle composed of an L4x4x1/4 shaped to the column width, with its horizontal leg clipped as required to clear the slab edge. The angle is welded to the steel column flange with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld. A steel beam connects to the steel column using a bolted shear tab connection. A note directs that for slab edges greater than twelve inches, reference detail sixteen on sheet S601 should be followed.
