Multiple framing beams connect to a central steel column using standard shear connections sized per plan. A bent plate with two interior plug welds attaches to the column, with its thickness matching the larger of the two adjacent connections. Stiffener plates welded to the column web provide additional support and load transfer. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size are specified on four sides for connection stability.
