A guide rail support tube connects to a divider beam using a one-half-inch thick steel plate with typical vertical long-slotted holes. The assembly is secured with three-quarter-inch diameter ASTM A325 hand-tightened bolts installed at the centerline of the shear plate and at the lower end of the slotted hole. A second guide rail support tube with standard holes frames into the assembly. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size are specified typically at the structural connections.
