Two-inch bearing bar grating is supported by structural steel angles below, with optional welded or bolted connections for grating bars. Piping is attached using one-half-inch diameter ASTM A307 U-bolts at the contractor's option, leaving piping unsupported by the grating itself. The structural angle may be removed where dunnage framing exists within six inches of the pipe. Openings are restricted to a maximum of twelve inches with a minimum nine-inch clearance ensuring a minimum of four bars engaged.
