A phased addition of a steel beam frames into an existing Phase 1 construction. A web splice plate is bolted across the construction joint, with bolt holes field-fabricated to accommodate as-built conditions from Phase 1. Added plates match the thickness of the as-built beam, featuring a one-half-inch minimum shelf typical at top and bottom flanges. A form saver or deformed bar anchor welded to the Phase 1 bent edge plate is required at the slab level. Temporary demolition conditions are excluded for clarity.
