A wide-flange column and wide-flange beam intersect with a gusset plate supporting a buckling-restrained brace. One-half-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the column with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds on three sides. Additional one-half-inch stiffeners are placed at locations noted on the core brace schedule. The connection includes a gusset plate attached to the column and beam framing. Hatched regions designate the extent of the protected zone.
